Thors list looks like mine :)
2001D conserved for 150 a bargain, I am surprised Yennus has any left:) I put my money where my mouth is :) and took 5 from my friend to tuck them away
2 other noteworthy,s if you can find them in OMP 1998 sd and 1993 frosted every once in a while you could find one on E bay and snipe it cheap, that is getting much more difficult, another undervalued IMHO 1990 ld...............

Yep, 2001D is likely to be even more popular.

Also, the 1/2oz 1995 LD Silver Panda (I know it's not a 1oz coin), I think will perform well into the future.

I've cut it down to either 2001 D or 1989.
The best offer I got for 2001 D in OMP is RM390 (118.18 USD)

    So opinion guys?

2001D is hotter than the 1989 me thinks.

If you buy the 2001D OMP for $118.18USD, you run the risk of it grading less than MS69.

Oh so what do you recommend then?
I just bought both the LD and SD 1994 1oz panda in OMP for RM 1450 ($439.39 USD)

If you are patient you could have probably got the 1994 sd and ld in ms69 grade for under
    Us$550.00

Right now if one were to grade at 68. You have already lost money.

I am not a broker for yennus :) but why pay 118 for an ungraded coin ,when you can buy a certified ms69 conserved for 150, the grading and conservation fee,s are 30+ with shipping both ways, just a thought..................

I think it will too, but what are your thoughts on why it will and what is the market , demand vs availability in China?

I would defiantly get the 2001d over the 1989 , the 1989s seem to be everywhere and I think it is unlikely they will go up much in value except with spot moves or in MS 70 , just my opinion though.

    +1

Right now with current panda prices, its better to just buy one already graded at 69 rather than risk buying OMP. A 68 grade now is almost a guaranteed money loser even before taking grading fees and your time & effort into account.

Another question guys, if I were to start a collection from 2001 to 2012, do I start from 2012 or 2001?

start from 2001 and work up ,the older coins have a better chance of going up more rapidly than the newer ones

Hmmm, now I'm considering 2 options.

    a) Collect MS 69 starting from 2006 cause 2005 was the last year there was double seal.

    or

    b) Collect starting from OMP 2001 D and slowly start working my way up till 2005 OMP.

    Opinions please? :)

you guys gotta consider where smokymcpot comes from. he is from Malaysia and the grading fee + shipping may shot up the cost while u guys can enjoy of ship within-AUS or within-US at cheaper shipping rate.

    $150 + $ 30+

unless he is going to buy multiple item like 3-5 items to average down the shipping cost.

i hope i were in US as well. ebay shipping often free or US7 only. while international .. they charge USD38-50 some of them, yeah . even 1 slab/1 coin.

and for grading advices, i think it will be better to send in a sheet (like a sheet of 10pcs 2001D) to be graded.

out of 10pcs, if got 1-2pcs MS70 you already cover back the cost of grading.

sell the rest of MS69, MS68 at cheaper than market because the purpose is to keep MS70 (for some people)

Actually for Malaysian collector, unless you have better way of buying coins from overseas seller or really know what you are doing, buying gold coins is safer and easier.

For budget collector, buying modern silver coins is a painful exercise. Several times I went to custom office to pay tax and some poor collector are paying heavy tax for their silver panda.

Now I rather collect gold coins. Seller can declare whatever amount they like, no problem. I don't worry about tax.

ahhhhhhhhhhh :):) TRUST ME ,if you want 1 or 2 ms70 2001D you better send in 10 sheets :) and hope and pray alot:)
1181 coins graded 34 in MS70 so that is less than 3 for every 100 and you must consider the cream of the crop has already been submitted,
I get the impression that a fair amount of folks think BUY COINS,GRADE COINS ,GO TO BANK:) the learning curve is extremely expensive:), ask anyone who grades coins ,I grade a fair amount (more than 800 this year) and i still have not figured it out........ why do you think people are willing to spend 1800usd ++++++ for a 2001d ms70 ? Answer: because the grading fee,s alone (never mind the cost of the coins) are that much :) and trust me when I tell you ,you could send 100 in and NOT GET A MS70:)
