Regarding SMSF, If people are going to buy concrete cancer prone developers dogbox apartments, that's their choice. They are fools but they should be free to do whatever they like, it's their money.

    Edit

Of course they should be disuaded from making poor investments, but if you're going to go 'self managed' and avoid financial planners fees then buy something a financial planner recommends....are you even doing the right thing having a SMSF?

Sorry if I have a SNEER. I love listening to all those self appointed SMSF experts (sic) who wring their hands about all these clueless SMSF's who get into property....... FOOLs

These are the same expert adviser clowns who tried to tell the Copper review that SMSF's were dodgy again showed to be unadulterated bull $hit. During the global financial crisis these same advisers were using retail and industry members shares loaned out to short sellers for pennies in the dollar resulting in driving down the price of the shares they were shorting.

Less than 3.5% of SMSF's have invested in property and the vast majority is in commercial property that the members lease for their business.
If you own a business you got to be clueless not to have an SMSF and have purchased the building your business is run from

Its money for jam and your creditors can never get at it once you pay the buildings off.

    Kind Regards

The right Farm Land without any borrowings is a viable option 10-15 years out.

Food and Electricity will replace all as the major negotiable instruments.

If you produce both of these you will go Ok IMO.

I also believe that owning guns will assist.

Even ten years ago I would have thought what a nutter BUT seeing what has gone down in Cyprus, Europe and the USA even owning a gun is a prudent rational response in a world that is neither rational or just.

    Kind Regards
