Some Baltic Amber pieces Bracelets on the left are worth about $500 each & the ones on the right are around $2500 each The ones on the left are reconstituted Amber, the ones on the right are actually carved from the rough pieces in the background And a Jade phallic piece about 200-300 years old , low quality jade though
"reconstituted Amber" i was under the impression that this was to be considered FAKE amber and was always told to steer clear. Was a fed a line of BS Spanner? Thanks
Yes correct . But the "EXPERTS" around will try & sell it to you anyway My mate who imported this stuff in had a rather heated conversation over the reconstituted stuff with the supplier. The fake amber does sell because it's so much cheaper, but some dodgey dealers want tell you it's reconstituted There's about 3 different ways they mess with amber & all have a certain value . In the old days nobody would have touched the reconstituted stuff , but now it's becoming more accepted
The Mods will ban me if I post a pic Just like the old ladies did down at the CWA bake sale when they saw it.
 I have another pic here of a Tiger With a rather large boner ( bigger than the Tiger it self ) in gold That I'm not willing to post either
They're everywhere, in glass cabinets made of jade, gold keyrings...and the baggage handling area of Denver international airport. Fantastic pieces though, I fell in love with amber after seeing the Graf von Faber-Castell pen of the year in amber, now I'm nutty for the stuff. Spannermonkey, do you know the person making the bracelets? They're fantastic.
