Hi, sorry if l listed this in the wrong section.

Being new to numismatics, l would like some direction as to what books l sould get to guide me in rarerity & price. l would like them to cover 1966 thru to 2014 (Australian decimal) if at all possible. I notice that G. mcdonalds books cover only certian years so would l need a couple of different editions to cover my year range? I also saw Rennicks Aus. Coin & banknote 25th ed 2014 does this book cover all decimal years or would l also need to work out editions and year coverage? Open to other ideas if their are better options?

    Thanks in advance.

I am only new to numis as well.

I purchased a Renniks 25th edition no that long a go. Must say I like the lay out, and it's easy to see the images .. even with my bad eyes. :)

I'd purchased the McDonalds before that, as it was going cheap on the net as a BIN. I ended up giving it to a mate though when I got the Renniks catalogue.

Any old Renniks books are good. " The Coin Collector's Reference"
also Try the Blue sheet or Cruzis coin for reference. Hope this help.

Forgot to mention that the prices quoted in either book should be seen as just a guide, and that the McDonalds seems to be the more optimistic on the prices quoted for stuff ..
