Now my package went from awaiting clearance in Australia all the way to Netherlands coming back to Australia. It is well travelled.

Oh man, that is incredible. So it is obviously addressed correctly as it made it here in a week. Then somebody in Sydney sorted (or it was auto sorted) it incorrectly and it's gone to Europe. Good luck mate, 2 Months is way out there. Let us know when you get it, cheers.

By the way, I did not know this. Most standard mail from Sydney goes to WA via surface rail. Only express and priority goes via air. That's why it takes 2 weeks + to get there sometimes. I only found this out recently.

I am currently in dispute with AP over a package sent by a member here that has gone missing.

GOt the notification it was delivered via express post, was in the office at the time and there was no package to be found. Delivery driver swears up and down they delivered it to the mailbox ( which the sender and I sort of doubt it could fit through) and its taken a week just to get a straight denial from AP.

    Thieving pieces of shite.

I'm still awaiting some coins which were express posted to me by a fellow stacker over a week ago (Qld to Syd).
What's the best way of approaching things with Auspost to have them locate the envelope?

What does the Aust Post Tracking we site say when you put the Express Post number in?

If it gives you no data / tracking, then read this page (below link), sign up for My Post (if you don't have an account) and log a inquiry.

    https://auspost.com.au/receiving/delayed-lost-or-damaged-items/find-a-missing-item

    Good luck.

3.46pm Monday 3rd Feb - Received by North Sydney Post Office
2.18pm Wednesday 5th Feb - On Board for delivery Dandenong
    3.40pm Delivered

Normally there is 3 or 4 other "tracking steps" like depot in Sydney and Melbourne

The most recent update is "Item processed at facility - ALEXANDRIA NSW - Wed 29 Jan • 5:18am".

I've contacted Auspost & they've told me they will only deal with the sender as the sender is their customer. I've requested the sender contact them but they haven't done so to date.

Michael, put it in writing via the web site with details. I found more help forthcoming from AustPost responding to my online inquiry than the person I spoke to. It'll also generate a case number for future use.

There's apparently a 10 day period (I assume that starts from when it's last update date is) that has to elapse before it becomes a missing item. Also get a description of the Express Post parcel (size and pic if possible) and send to AustPost via the case which will be opened in your account name.

    Just keep on them.

Yep. This is exactly what happened with my package (mentioned above). Postie didn't pop into my office with the package, didn't leave a collection docket & didn't update the tracking to show it had been dropped off at my local PO.
The only reason I received my package is because I took the initiative & popped into my local PO.
A load of stress all because of a lazy (or maybe overworked?) postie!
