I thought I'd start this thread as it is open to the general public to view. It's beneficial to buyers and sellers to know that delivery times can be very long and it is not the fault of the sellers.

I cracked a record yesterday, NSW outer metro to NSW Rural took 3 full weeks. They sent a registered letter to Queensland 3 times for no good reason at all. Item was addressed correctly as I photograph everything as proof. Strathfield NSW to Northgate QLD back and fourth, 3 times! I had to call them 2 times before it was sorted. This is the worst I have had. I'll put up the screenshots, you won't believe it!

I sent a parcel to Victoria from NSW and it took about a month to arrive. I'm glad the buyer was patient!

Yes that's right. I had a letter returned to the sender. After a while I asked her where my letter was and she said they returned it to her. Her from address was almost the same size as the sending address so I could see how that had happened. In my case I had NSW front and rear but they sent it to Queensland 3 times.

sent an eparcel from Geelong to Sydney.

Not sure what happened at their automatic sorting centre but the parcel got stuck in a loop between the Melbourne and Sydney auto srting centres and did over 6 complete loops in just over a month until I managed to get them to do something about it.

Eventually got it back all chewed up.

    Parcel had done over 12,000km.

You think the buyer was happy?

Have another one at the moment where I sent a parcel to the USA.

Irate customer emails me stating that tracking shows parcel being returned to me.

USPS states that buyer not home and so being returned to me.

Actual scan shows that parcel didn't get even close to the customer but was miss scanned and was sent back to sender.

Both USPS and sent me emails stating that the parcel has been lost while I got it back a week ago.

    Their incompetence is amazing.

As I send a lot of items I have a heap of these stories.

Don't even get me started on Fastway, they make Oz Post look like a real professional operation.

Ive had a pretty good run with Australia Post times but for me DHL is by far the best freight company I have used, albeit International.
Toll is by far my worst ever experience of a freight company.
You would think the CEO would take a look at the feedback on the product review sites and wonder how you can have so many negative responses and not have a problem.

Bob, you paid premium service and got slow service. Under the Express Post Guarantee you are entitled to a refund. I have claimed this before. The procedure is to call 13POST and press the corresponding button for deliveries and explain the situation. If it falls within the Australia Post Delivery Network then you are entitled to that refund. They will make the refund to your bank account or you can request a replacement for the satchel you sent. I hope that helps.

I was the recipient of package in this case. CBD to CBD, so they had no excuse I think.

Oh OK Bob, it is only the sender that can claim. And yes, no excuse for that.

Just over 2 weeks ago I posted a registered letter including "Priority Postage" which took 6 working days to travel less than 250k's

Since privatization of Auspost including aggressive bidding for a courier route things have predictably gone downhill

Sent a standard letter on December 11th from Sydney to WA, the guy got it on January 2nd. Total time was 22 days before he got it.

Currently I have another undelivered registered letter, posted 21 December and still not delivered 14 days later.

In the 80's I was doing a world trip and my post cards home from Russia took less time than what's happening from Sydney to WA these days.

Yes I understand the Christmas holidays and all that but what usually takes 3 to 4 days to this regular customer now took 22, why is it taking so long to get post over to WA?

I have watched the tracking on parcels that took forever, I have posted one from Sydney to Melbourne that went to Adelaide and then Queensland and then back to Sydney and finally to Melbourne.

I sent another one from the Eastern suburbs in Sydney to the Western suburbs, a distance of about 15km and it took a detour to Brisbane.

And then of course anything that goes through Sydney can easily take a long vacation in the Black Hole of Chullora.

    Larger Letters:
For up to 125 grams from $2.00 to $2.20

I'm still waiting for my Shock absorbers. Expected delivery time was the 11th of December.
DHL are the leaders in the postal game. I've had parcels delivered via standard international post that took 3 days from Europe and at the same time had parcels from AusPost via Express post that took over a week to get from Sydney to Canberra.
Yet the CEO of AusPost gets multi million dollar bonuses...go figure.
