This is what happens when you have the world's best treasurer at the helm.

Just what we need. The IMF buttering up the government again. Didn't it cost us something like 60 billion last time they said nice things about us.

What's the bet we'll grab the tarbaby with both hands?

So let's give our money away to the IMF to help europe, woo! I think the article is correct, but it doesn't mean much to be the strongest economy out of a basket of completely failed ones.

What annoys me most about this kind of news is that it strokes the ignorance of the masses. Most people I know assume everything is fine. Even those REALLY high up in my government dept don't really know what's going on, they know that budgets are being slashed but wouldn't know exactly why that is the case other that "tax revenues decreasing". They don't know the big picture.

Is that a joke??? US will breach the debt ceiling again this year, US equities will likely drop as life support is turned off, US borrowing rates artificially and unsustainably low, US data summer data over-adjusted due to warmer whether, Spain 10yr yields just went over 6% and their banks are holding more sovereign debt, high leveraging accross euro banks, Italian yields creeping up again and would suffer knock-on affect from Spain, Ireland and Portugal going the wrong way, tensions with nth Korea... and Iran.. and anyone else the US feels like fighting.

Don't worry though, the world is fine and we have Swan. Middle name Black?

Well, from this year we will be giving a billion dollars of Carbon Tax extracted from Australian homes and businesses to The UN. We will all be paying for guns and soldiers, the UN's main business.

They didn't say anything nice about you or me, only about Swan. But it still cost us 60 Billion.

I wonder what a Nobel Prize for Gillard would cost next?

wayne swan to the red headed shrew "I don't know where were going, but were making great time!"

I feel like this country is in safe hands knowing black swan (credit to SilverMark for his new name) is at the helm and that he got his Euro Money Magazine award for best treasurer makes me confident he will fix any problems that stand in Straya's way
