In all fairness, Business trips, hotel accomodation and taxi fares are hardly good measures of the cost of living. I've lived in regional 'towns' and cities in Queensland, W.A. and the N.T. and I can tell you it's hella-more expensive day to day living outside any capital city...by a long shot. Not only is everyday produce and services sub-par, you also pay through the nose for them. Fuel, meat, Vegies, milk, groceries, I.T. support, booze ...that's if you can get them! Get a sandwich made for you in Cloncurry and you'd think by the bill that you were in a Tourak cafe'...until you bite into it, that is Of course a cross town Sydney taxi ride is going to take you a hell of a lot longer than in Meekatharra. But there's no taxi in Meeka! :/
With all of our farming and resources and the strong Aussie dollar , how the hell did that happen ??? I have never seen such a low level of talent in our politicians as i see now .
