Interesting to see this on the front page of the GATA website: http://www.gata.org/node/9859 Australia hears on TV that there are no free markets, only interventions Dear Friend of GATA and Gold (and Silver): This week Australian business journalist Peter Switzer interviewed fund manager Wesley Legrand of Grand Private Equities in Adelaide for the Sky News business channel and got from him not only some gold- and silver-friendly comments but a remark that sounded a bit familiar: "There are no free markets. There are only interventions. It happens on a daily basis." (See http://www.gata.org/node/6242.) It has taken GATA a long time but maybe the word is getting around. Legrand's comment comes at 9 minutes and 25 seconds into the interview, but it's all worth listening to. It's a bit more than 11 minutes long and you can watch it at the Switzer Internet site here: http://www.switzer.com.au/video/legrand-april28/
Awesome video. This guy is a smart man. What I liked and it reinforced the reason to hoard metal is that you can't keep unsustainable growth going on debt. We're just waiting for the rubber band to snap. Silver goes berserk. Gold goes berserk. Precious metals either become the new currency (I doubt it), or a new currency is formed. We go through a depression. Everything resets and those with the metal are the ones that are in the front seat driving the bus. Everyone else will be left holding the back of unusable Aussie dollars, US dollars and every other currency.
As a follow up to Rbaggio's post, It gets a second mention regarding silver. Maybe our media isn't too bad after all. At least segments of it. http://www.gata.org/node/9862
Wesley looks like he's played a bit of rugby in his day I'm going to have to take a closer look at this guy, thanks for the link!
+1 on this. For those that have not yet watched this vid, watch it. I suspect there are not too many in the markets with their heads screwed on like this chap.
Well spoken. thanks for the link. See the guy behind his left shoulder have a sly slug from a beer bottle @ 2.07?
