I spent the day today on location with the cast and crew of Aussie Pickers. The show will debut on May 9th on Foxtel. Series one will run for 8 episodes, Here are some exclusive to Silver Stackers behind the scenes photos:

The show is in the same format as American pickers and is not as "staged" as some people might think. The pickers names are Adam and Lucas. Adam works for a major auctioneer company in Sydney when not picking and Lucas owns a shop in Sydney's inner west. Here is the flyer they hand out:

The crew wait for the pickers to arrive, the pickers have never met the people they are picking beforehand:

    The pickers arrive:

After an introduction and asking for permission to look around, they get to work:

All thoughts are captured on camera:

Lucas being followed as always by film crew:

    Crew everywhere:

Changing a 50gb blue ray disk, they go through heaps of disks on that $70,000 camera:

One of the picks, bought for $20:

You have no idea how many crew are around when watching the show:

The camera is always in your face:

This is the part at the end of the show when the people being picked say how good the pickers were, its the exact same formula as American Pickers:

The Shooting takes 10 days per episode, the whole day of shooting will result in 12 to 14 minutes of footage for the show.

    Great pics Oz.
I have an idea of how many must have been. I did some work with some of the channel 7 renovation shows a few years ago and it was amazing how many people were behind the scenes for the 5 or so that actually appeared on the screen.
It is amazing how much goes on in the back ground.

Yeh keen as for this show aye. What's good about American Pickers is that Mike & Fritz give a brief history about each piece. I think this is key to the shows success, also they have a van with graphics to appear legit and not some wifi hijackers.
