So last time I had a tiger claw here I had multiple people trying to buzz it at the same time. so I thought that this one I would offer as an auction item. this one is much nicer however as it comes in a vintage case and has much better workmanship. Mounted in 15ct gold which was fazed out in 1932 (see link below) and being engraved "From Arthur xmas 95" you would expect it to date circa 1895 or earlier) So final prices is plus postage at buyers risk/cost and I will follow the current trend of having a 5minute anti-snipe rule. Price starts at $250 which would be below scrap value in my opinion as I am sure that the gold weighs a bit more than the claw. Auction ends 5pm WA time or 7pm AEST Tuesday 26th May http://www.topdogscrapgold.co.uk/article/whatever-happened-15carat-gold
Quick question.. I know you're from WA but any chance you are in Perth? I've had a number of F2F meetings with other Perth folk on this site going back years (all positive - some selling, some buying) and would be interested if your ok with a face to face meeting.
For everyone's information what geodesi is talking about is the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna And Flora (CITES) it is a voluntary organization which Australia is a part of which governs the trade of certain flora and Fauna eg ivory. To start with tigers are not on the list, I can own any tiger product whatsoever. but lets pretend it was ivory, I would only need paperwork if I intended to export it or import it from Australia, even then it would simply require certifications that the animal product is from a protected animal that passed away pre 1975, with that evidence and paperwork I could do what I want with it. This item dates pre 1932 (I actually believe it to be 1895 from markings present) and is not, I repeat not a protected class of animal https://www.environment.gov.au/biodiversity/wildlife-trade/cites
Just to confirm 5minutes anti snipe means time is extended by 5minutes if someone bids in last 5 minutes. So auction doesnt finish till 5mins after last bid or at 5pm WA time or 7pm AEST Tuesday 26th May if no bids received in last 5 minutes
