I'm being asked by someone who may be in France this year and in a position to buy gold bullion coins.

If you have a recommendation, I'd be most appreciative!

-- They are interested in well-known gold coins -- 999 bullion only, no numis (eg. PM; Maples; Phil)

-- Cash or credit card OK

    -- Preferably pre-order and over-the-counter pickup

Do you know any dealers or how it works best over there?

Particular coin recommendations for lowest premium over spot?

If so post here (or PM if you wish).

    Thanks in advance ;)

Thanks CL - have you used all of those personally?

For anyone else I'm looking for recommendations based on usage - I'm happy to run my own Google searches in parallel ;) No need to do the work for me.

As usual, too cryptic for me VRS!

Do you mean order from Latvia for delivery into France?

Or go to Latvia? (which is not in France hehe)

    Cheers :D

It depends on quantity I think. 7%VAT in Germany, no VAT in Latvia... Possibly worth a day trip...

^^^ Great thanks for the clarification! I guess that would only be useful for silver? (Gold is VAT-free in the EU isn't it?)
