Hi Just like to know if there are any SS members that trade the black gold stuff a.k.a OIL? Anyone know any good websites, eg. fundamental analysis, charts....
Good question, ive been thinking about it for a while aswell, ive added what i thought were "etf"s or whatever to my ticker list but they dont seem to mirror the oil price much at all are there any ways to "go long" oil on the ASX? (Not a regular drilling or exploration company) or is it on some sort of commodities index that i dont know anything about?
@atmidnight - Betashares crude oil ETF - ASX code OOO is the only one I know of on the ASX. It is currency hedged and tracks oil futures price - NOT SPOT PRICE. This is probably why you notice it doesn't track the oil price as closely as you'd expect. As Len82 mentioned, CFD's are by far your best opton IMHO.
Ive got some Castrol GTX stashed out in the shed. Might also be some BP Corse+....damn fine oil that. What you after?
Going long after the US election with the thought that the US (or one it's Proxy armies) will have a go at Iran soon after the inauguration BIG Pennant... really in no mans land at the moment (well I think it is a bargain )
cheers guys, ill have a look into CFD's Yeah OOO was the ticker i was looking at aswell, makes more sense now you've said that thanks again
I do... cashed out last friday... went back in today... and have been ripped a new one! In for one last trade tonight... if get stopped out tonight... will call it a day - for the week...
Any insights on where oil is headed in the next few days? Anyone come across any articles or charts??? got short in around 93 and now is currently 91.... I think it will head south more...???
Yep, I believe with the poor earnings this qtr... should see oil drop next week (unless middle east tension pops up again). However, not sure if it will keep declining until US elections... currently its ranged bound between 89-93. Fingers crossed if it does tank!!
