I'll have some time Mon 14th or Tue 15th in Sydney to do those talks if any coin dealer wants to host.
8 minute to opening...theres like 20 ppl waiting... Ok GS team just walked in...must be a big night last nite...lol
Anything worthwhile in there ? My one and only ever visit to an ANDA show a few years ago was a waste of time so haven't been since.
Very disappointed Only international dealers were Canada mint , UK mint & CIT No advertising , no signage telling you where it's on But good to catchup with some of the interstate dealers anyway
I shall be in attendance. This is my first ANDA.... is it formal or semi-formal attire? And may I bring along some of my nuggets, or is it the wrong time and place? Any other help with eti(had)quette would be much appreciated....including which joint has the cheapest parking?
Plenty of dealers offering evaluations and some may want to buy it. They get a bit upset if you stand around outside doing deals amongst yourselves, at least they do at the Brisbane Coin Fair. Edit to add: It is fancy dress this year as it is so close to Halloween
I was there this morning, most of the visitors wore suits or jackets at the least and all dealers had black ties, please note there is a good chance that if you come under dressed they will not allow you in. My wife was wearing a thong and she had to wait in the car. The only nuggets i saw were in the mensroom, bobbing up and down
I parked on the street, meter was $3.30p/h chucked $6 in. As for attire, I had no problem with my fila trackies and puma jacket..... come on its casual Friday
Dropped in this arvo, its a nice venue.. once you find it If you park at Etihad, turn left as you enter "Entry A" from Bourke St. Take the lift to level 2, then into the Medallian Club. http://australiancoinshows.com.au/index.php/venue-information Was good to see some bullion dealers there, Goldstackers and Bullionlist had plenty of stock. Disappointed in the Royal Mint stand, I actually walked straight past it initially. Was hoping to pick up a proof sov, but they only had some half-sovs here and a few commemoratives. Not a huge range on display at Canadian Mint either, but picked up a nice Canadian Arctic Expedition Silver Dollar. I did a lot better with the local dealers ps: weekend parking was $12.
Dropped by today, my mate and I were handed a show bag by the lady at Downies which contained some goddies including 3 pennies But my daughter loved the showbag from the Macquarie mint with hard candy and balloons
