Alcyone is a mediocre stock in the right arena... It is the only silver stock that should be (or can be) 'traded' because of its high liquidity, it spikes over its value, creates a mini bubble and crashes. The only upside is the resource, and bad managment can screw up the profitability of a good mine! We should all remember that and manage that risk.
Alcyone Managment scares me - as far as i know they still havnt updated their JORC resource which they promised in sept/nov.... i lost a lot of profit from alcyone coz i sold out - but to be honest im glad im out. The resource isnt worth the nerves IMO. I'm glad other people can profit from AYN, their probably smarter than I am, I just cant stomach the volitility that comes with having 1.2 billion shares
As with all the silver plays I have, this one is free carry for me. When investing in minor players I always try to free carry as soon as possible. Let's me sleep at night and frees up my capital for other investments, or fun. This last 3 months have been great for that purpose.
I should probably take alot away from that, i need to improve my investment philosophy, plan and rules.. Ive made some insane mistakes, but the bullishness of mining stocks over the last 8 months has really 'hidden' my losses. I count that as a blessing and should learn as much as i can. Keep those emotions in check
It could open even higher today coz of the silver price though. Not that I'm going to jump in and buy this, since it'll leave me stressed staring at the screen every 5 seconds at its volatility
I think so too, but I think silver's got a bit left in this upleg before we get the correction so I'm going to hang on a bit longer. Very tempted to sell though. I'll be getting nervy when silver goes past $45.
Im looking for a PM correction approaching june - could be 20% - then again might just power on - scary times
@ .092 might be a good place to top up keep your avg share price below .08 if your holding - this is just my opinion
Good thing I never hopped onto this baby, dropped like a sack of rocks lol Over 30% drop from its peak last few weeks; even more volatile than silver
