I've pre ordered and Ill be watching the business closely. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to this, I'm thinking it could very easily go down the gimmick path if handled incorrectly.
Uses Bluetooth to alert you that you've left it behind so even better Hopefully by mid 2014 they'll have fully developed it for all countries; "Q. Will my Coin work outside the U.S.? A. Not in all cases. U.S.-based customers: Coin will work overseas, but we recommend that you bring a backup card when you travel. Customers located outside of the U.S.: Coin does not support EMV yet. If the country you live in requires it we recommend holding off your purchase for now." Pre-ordered one anyway, like the idea. Would be awesome if they could incorporate the new PayWave chip too
In a previous life and when working retail overseas, it wasn't uncommon for customers to open their wallet and see 10 cards. I remember a pair of really outrageous gay guys from London, they were so out there which is why I remember them. They just had about 15 cards each, held together with a fancy elastic band. They carried no cash at all and were on holiday. I know lots of people for whom this is a great idea.
DIY card skimming ! Should sell well to credit card fraudsters Give a waiter your credit card and it's been read and stored by the time you get it back
