I'm finding that practically every member even on obscure threads appears to have Last Visit as Yesterday or Today, with the very odd Mar 8 or Mar 9. I havent been able to find earler. Is this a bug in the system or is almost every member really attending at least every 48 hours on average? Are there any non active members with last visits that stretch back to 2010 for example. I couldnt find one exampke. The next is a question about the Say Thanks feature which I think is excellent. Is there any summary page on a profile which shows how many thanks the member has made and received? I think this woyld be nice to see.
Something screwy could be going on with the "Yesterday" issue - timezone related no doubt (I'll check the database - could be UTC instead of local time etc). Have a look in the "Buying Silver in Australia" thread - lots of people that haven't logged in for months visible in that thread. There's no bug with the validity of the login timestamps - it's only reset on a valid login by the member. This forum has an amazing retention rate.
Yep I see members who've logged in earlier etc. Must just be a little issue with time zones etc then. How about the other little question
Missed that - am reading from the iPhone on the train. There's no summary feature - but I do have "this user has been thanked X times" on the development roadmap.
Just had a very quick look at the table where the thanks are stored - the SQL to retrieve "this user has been thanked X times" for everyone's profile in every post would be prohibitive from a performance perspective, so no quick fix on this one - I will have to rewrite the thanks module to store some additional details in the table to lighten the query load on the database. So I'll have to park that for the next round of features that will come with the 1.4.5 upgrade.
Yes. Something odd is going on. I visit this site around 4 times a day and now every time I am told You are not logged on. I press the log on in the menu bar and up comes a window with name and password. I then tick the auto so that I don't have to log in every time I visit. But alas next time is says you are not logged on and so I do it all over again. Regards Errol43
