Hi mates, after a very succesfull compitition, i was just wondering if we cant play it big here mates. If we have only 20% on here entering, the total Ag prizes will be more than 150 oz's. That will be great. Say 2 of such compititions a year where the winner gets 50% of the prize, 2nd. 25% and 3rd 15% and 10% to GP for the site etc. Don't know how to do a poll onhere, but will you be interested. Just putdown your name if you will enter such a comp. If we can get atleast 50 entries, that will be also great. I will definitely be in =) 1. AU 79 ... 196.97 2. ?
I've been sitting on a quiz idea for some time now..an open quiz as we all have access to the internet. The quiz would be in real time, with the first correct response credited. The theme of course would be silver.
We couldn't even get >15 people for the 1oz melborne cup comp even though the odds would be better for that. However the huge prize may be more tempting for members. Count me in.
I hate the melbourne cup and refuse to take part in anything related to it. This suggestion from AU(insert numbers here) is something i would be interested in
Count me in, more people better prize, less people better odds. Win win! Would we send off 1oz as an entry fee? I guess the devil is in the detail.
As a bloke who constantly struggles to find the means to increase my stack, I'm open to anything that might improve my chances
If GP can give the go-ahead for this one, he can be the one choosing the Question, something to do with silver where there can only be 1 correct answer. Any thoughts ? GP will then get all participant's answers on or before 30/06/2011. Each member will give to GP his answer to the competition and howmany Oz's of Au and Ag he's got. According to what the GSR is as at 30/06/2011, GP will work out howmany silver oz's each participant are worth, example: At 30/06/2011 xxx send to GP his answers. 1stly he send his prediction. xxx know 74 members enter the competition and he thinks that all together they own a total # of 11000 oz silver. 2ndly xxx send his total amount of Au and Ag oz's. xxx got 1 oz gold and 64 oz silver. GP now take the GSR and converd xxx's stack to oz's of silver.If GSR is 53, xxx got a total silver oz tally of 117 oz silver. GP now count up all the participants silver tallys, and kapang, wev'e got our winners. What do your mates think ??
I like it but yes GP would have to do a fair bit and would everyone be happy disclosing the size of their stack? I like the spot price guess, I can guess low, if I win I won't be so upset about my silver being worth less, if Im way out my silver is worth more. It's a win win again!
Wow, I've got homework assignments Not sure if many people at all would be willing to reveal their stack sizes, even privately to me for the purposes of the competition. Another spot price guessing competition would probably be the way to go, but I might need to abstain from involvement if there's going to be entry fees as I'm not sure where it could run afoul of state lottery laws etc if the prize pool got too large - and we did have trouble getting many people to participate in the Melbourne Cup sweep with the $30 entry. Personally I'd rather people stuck with the donation model that's been adopted to date on the website. I was thinking of starting a 2011 spot price comp with the same end date (last day of US trade 2011), but I'm still on holidays, so haven't got around to it yet (I'm still overseas).
Seeing as the answer could be anywhere up to infinity, the odds are totally ridiculous. Perhaps guess the number of participants in the quizz?
