Maybe somebody is familiar with Russian Proof Coin Sets, If you will be offered with a 500th Anniversary of Russia State - 6 Coin Proof Set in a box with missing COA, How much is the price acceptable in USD? I appreciate your help, thank you.
woah, didn't know about this set. mmm...something to put on my wishlist, I guess. To be useful, (disclaimer: I am not an expert on Russian proof sets) Given it has missing COA, I'd consider collecting it by pieces checking not only Ebay, but 'Russian' auctions prices, as well. For example, the set contains 7,78 g 900/1000 gold 50 roubles Found here (scroll down for the history of the auctions) http://www.fcoins.ru/catalog/catalogussrub/catalogussrub13799.asp foto Name Type Auction Buyer Bids Final Price(Rub) Date the set has 2 of 31,1 g 900/1000 silver 3 roubles I just found one of them here(scroll down) http://www.fcoins.ru/catalog/catalogussrub/catalogussrub13902.asp 15,55 g fine platinum 150 roubles http://www.fcoins.ru/catalog/catalogussrub/catalogussrub13923.asp 15,55 g 900/1000 gold 100 roubles http://www.fcoins.ru/catalog/catalogussrub/catalogussrub13800.asp 31,1 g fine palladium 25 roubles http://www.fcoins.ru/catalog/catalogussrub/catalogussrub13929.asp 31,1 g 900/1000 silver 3 roubles http://www.fcoins.ru/catalog/catalogussrub/catalogussrub13903.asp (no data for this one) My second step would be to search, if I can buy the whole set in Russia and check the price there. Example #3 http://mosdragmet.ru/nabory-monet/354-500-letie-gosudarstva-nabor.html (english and other languages link) They want 165k Finally, I would not buy anything from Russia or Russian seller without exercising extreme care. (Applies to online and f2f) gK
Thank you very much for the reference, it is a good help. Roughly, i just wanna know the market price because i checked an Ebay seller which was so extremely expensive and he was selling for 4,500 USD, Does It mean it is justifiable for the price of the set. This is my first buying intention on Russian coins. The coin set i am buying is ready for pick up in one of big coin store in South Korea.
Can only talk about bullion, I am not much into numismatics. I have been observing over 200-300% difference in prices of Russian commercial banks (in Russia banks sell bullion and numismatics, namely Sberbank) and the prices on Ebay. For your set, you'd have to do some research. Good luck with it.
According to Russian Auction prices reference on the above, if combined all, taking consideration from the lowest bid: The set will cost for 2700USD. gK, It is really useful idea as a plain reference in calculating for expected price
Herewith the actual photo of the coin which he offered to me, (disclaimer) .... the coin is not yet mine. No COA.
Yeh, this corrseponds with the last link I provided. It had a quote of approximately 2861USD for the whole set. However, you would need to understand bullion/stacking/collecting in Russia is not as popular as in other countries. There is no mature market and the prices are strictly indicative. :re your picture Google shows the set in different box (not sure if there was more than one type) https://adacoins.ru/online_auction/23/7831
Why are you collecting Ruski coins ? Russians don't collect modern Russian coins Only pre 1896 are collectible by Russian ,& everybody hates the last Tsar when it comes to coins Russian coins are hard to sell in the secondary market unless pre 1896 I wouldn't pay much over their bullion value especially since there is no COA
Ohhh, Now i know. I will check that as well. I been in Vladivostok couple of times but i wasn't able to seek for Gold coins, Next time, will try to check the banks you mentioned earlier.
Because the price is bullion value, for 2000Usd if cash, Also due to curiosity upon checking the price in the net . How do you think for the price?
Really ? So you know what I have bought & sold How about you spend your $ on Russian coins & come back in a couple years
Thanks Spanner Monkey, If i visit back Melbourne, much easy to source bullion or bars. For now bullion in S. Korea is really hard to find, I was looking for gold Korean tiger, Koreans are not fond on bullion coins as i observed. Probably, i will pass HK to pick some.
