I purchased some 2Oz Lunar Snakes (2013) from a site sponsor, so I am sure they are legit, but I was just measuring them up for capsules and found something odd. According to the Perth Mint web site Specifications.... Maximum Diameter (mm) 55.60 Maximum Thickness (mm) 3.60 But mine measure (according my digital callipers) Diameter 54.9mm and 2.9mm thick. Which is 0.7mm out in each direction! :/ Is this normal?
I'm not. I got some very cheap coins because they had no capsules. I have no idea why someone would remove them from their capsules, but I figured getting them at a reduced price because of this was worth while. Silver is silver after all. And I trust the site sponsors - at least I think I should trust them! lol
Simple way is bring your coin with the caps to the nearest bullion store n compare. PM capsules are unique in a way n beautiful compared to lighthouse caps. My 2c.
