Ze Djermanz are konsidering gaz rationing:

Other media sources speak of food rationing, gasoline rationing in multiple countries in Europe.
This is going to accelerate and reach tremendous proportions. I think by October-November food and fuel scarcity and high prices will shake Europe to the bone marrow.

Loose monetary policy has some cause, same with supply shortages but in a nutshell it all comes down to poor leadership all the way around.
No matter how you get the math these clowns are to blame and no checks and balances.

Sure, they screwed up the financial system with diluted currency (during the pandemic both the ECB and the Fed printed galactic amounts of money), that's called INFLATION.

The sanctions have also had an indirect effect: a bunch of countries (from Philippines to Argentina) stopped exporting certain food products. What we have now is dozens of countries (not just Russia, Ukraine) that are not exporting enough (or at all), for fear that they themselves might not have enough for the "hard times" coming. So, the food supply chains are fragmented.

The energy-related sanctions have generated an energy war and all that leads to higher food prices and in some countries (see Sri Lanka) the impossibility of moving around and transporting any goods at all (fuel is so scarce and so expensive that no-one can afford it), so the food doesn't get transported either.

I just hope that there are a few intelligent people and they will sort this mess out. I think the speed and the proportion of the crisis can be held back. But with the dumb clowns in power, it will keep spiraling down.

We're being led blindfolded by a bunch of psychopaths and sociopaths.

If you still have sizeable money in the bank you deserve to lose it!

This is huge. Don't know how this will end. Henan bank is NOT the only one that is having problems with liquidity. All four Chinese banks are having the same issue. Some depositors found they can save and can NOT withdraw money with their bank cards. #bankrun #China #CCP

Interestingly even CNN has that story:

Hong Kong (CNN) Chinese authorities on Sunday violently dispersed a peaceful protest by hundreds of depositors, who sought in vain to demand their life savings back from banks that have run into a deepening cash crisis.

Gold's going down, money is turning into crap, Bitcoin is a pile of worthless digits created by no-one knows who. How can you save your wealth BESIDES land, real estate?

    What are your opinions?

I'm thinking of something closer to money and gold.

Perhaps we should start buying Seiko and Tissot watches (or more expensive brands). The cheaper models could be the equivalent of 15 silver ounces, that is something. You could put them away with the tag, well-preserved (if the battery doesn't leak).

Buy jewelry with high PM content? Not for the sake of stone, those are very unstable investments (diamonds are among the worst investments). Yes, with jewelry you overpay at least 30-50%, sometimes 70% of its "intrinsic" metal value, but at least it looks good, so people could buy it for that.

I would not buy smartphones or laptops, because they are fragile, lose value and they lose 30-40% of their value in a single year, especially if new models are released. Plus, once bought, they are considered "used".

I would never buy vintage art (it's difficult to re-sell). Could take years until you use old silverware or old decorative items. I think... correct me, if I'm wrong.

Buy bricks of pure copper and re-sell them at the scrapheap 5 years later? Might even gain a bit in price. Especially if industrial production starts picking up.

Buy whiskey, gin and other strong drinks (I know some of you are actually piling those up). Still, they're only good for gifts, otherwise most people don't drink that kind of fuel.

I just don't know gold, silver, fiat currency or cryptos can preserve wealth. The 2008 crisis seemed to have been more "humane", this one unfolding seems "gone mental".

So cryptos are safer, after all. But they're worthless. It's just the tulip-mania pumping them.

I think this will happen to bonds soon. One day I was talking to someone who just put 10 k into state bonds. Guy claimed "it's the only best and safest investment". Some countries pay 5-10% per year. Just that inflation eats up more.

    Nothing is safe anymore.

After the Obama ammo shortage i learned my lesson and stocked up. He was the best gun salesman America ever had and it was one thing he did right.

US Dollar reaches parity with EURO:

It will be a rollercoaster ride for the Euro downwards this year, as the Russian-EU currency & trade war continues.

At this time the GBP is the strongest currency in Europe and the Swiss Franc comes in second. Perhaps "Brexit" wasn't such a bad idea for them, after all.
Croatia is hurrying to introduce the Euro - it's like running to grab the last ticket for the Titanic, WHILE IT IS SINKING!

Russia just shut down their Northstream gas claiming "technical maintenance" is necessary, the Germans freaked out. I bet it's fake: za Rashanz want to make ze Germanz "feel it". They are testing "what happens" when they shut down the gas for 10 days. I reckon the German industry (& financial sector as a result-) will feel the shock.

Expect the Euro to go even lower next week.

This is the day when the Dollar has consolidated its position as a global reserve currency. It's true. Because everyone who kept their money in Euros is yearning for Dollars.

It will get worse for the Euro: the Ruskies will keep asking Roubles for EVERYTHING - that means metals, minerals, wood, anything besides oil and gas.

We'll see how Europe survives the 2022-2023 winter.

    Did gold's price really drop?

Considering the price rise of the USD (in Europe in some countries the USD has gained up to +25%), gold became more expensive. Even more expensive than it was when it peaked above 2,000 $!

So: did gold's price really drop? No, it actually went up!
