Well ladies and gentlemen, I picked up the new lunar coin (1oz) silver at the coin shop today, and I'm not that impressed. I have been looking online, and I haven't seen any 2oz roosters out there. What's up with that?

Are we talking Perth Lunars or some other Lunars?

The perth lunars. The design seems bland to me, but to each their own! Who on here likes the design?

Im with you, it looks bland to me, but I guess PM could not change the theme of series too much.

The whole series is idyllic country style, something you will find in old folksy book

Just got them today and not very impressed. Very bland something lacking with the design. Maybe it will grow on me in time as the other designs have done. Hated the Monkey when it first came out don't mind it so much now...

Only so many things you can do with a Chook design anyways....

Got mine yesterday and it seems OK, though nothing special. Very few of the PM Lunars stand out because of their design or quality - I'm only collecting one of each corresponding to family birthdays.

Yeah, I'm passing on these for investment. Hopefully the kooks will motivate me to sink some of my funds down the road into them...if not, then I'm sure the 2017 Pandas won't disappoint. Lol.

I quite like the year of the KFC design. Must be me, sorry to disagree with everyone...

Maybe if the design is bland, then that might lead to low mintags of the other sizes?

Hey Kutylin, I'm not a big fan of these roosters, and the premiums are pretty high. I thought they would be priced a bit lower vs the monkey's but they came out of the gate about the same price, but then folks like JM bullion increased the price of the monkey. Yeah, I'll take a pass. If I can get some of the 2 oz for like 42.00 or lower, I'm game. But no thanks on these. :).

I like the look of the kook much more. I hope you are well my friend!!

I'm great lol Last year 1 oz Lunars we around 25-26 USD when spot was near 14-15 USD. So this time with the price around 27-28 (and around 30 USD at Apmex!) USD think it is even better than last time. But you are a better investor than me so you may be more correct.
PS I bought a roll of Roosters for around 27.10 USD. Think they would not fall less than 26 USD anyway. Wish you great luck in business and family relations, friend!

I agree with Bullion Barron about the designs being MEH. But what else is one suppose to do with a rooster? Lol. I think they look okay too. Nothing spectacular, but less about the design and more about the animal.
