Just received my 2015 5oz High Relief Silver Proof Kookaburra Coin, this is a terrific coin beautiful crafted with great detail - but the coin doesn't fit the capsule, it moves about in the capsule and the capsule is to large for the box - so the coin doesn't sit well in the box and it doesn't close.

Has anyone purchased this coin and experiencing similar, great coin but a bit disappointed with the poor marketing at $ 485 it should be better than this.

Anyway will make some enquiries with the Perth Mint tomorrow.

    1. The Green box doesn't close properly leaving a 3-4 mm gap- due to the thickness of the capsules
    2. The capsules is slightly larger than the coin.. coin can rattle in the cap.

    :(

I have all of the Perth Mint 1oz High Reliefs. And they all rattle in the capsule, as do most coins. It is the sound of the rim of the coin hitting the capsule I believe. And it's perfectly normal.

But the box not closing doesn't sound good. Hopefully some others who have purchased the 5oz can let you know if they are experiencing the same, so you can see if you box is just a defect or if this is how they all are.

    Those coins are so thick.

I prefer the format of the conventional 1 oz coins. In terms of proportions. I think the 1 kg coins should also follow those proportions.

Instead, they tend to make heavier coins "fatter".

    Hi picturefun,

We have shipped stock of this coin to customers. The only ones we have not shipped to yet are those who have other items on their order that have not arrived yet, or those who have the coin on lay-by.

If you believe you should have received your coin by now please send me a PM with your customer details and I'll look into it for you.

    Kind regards,

    Renee

Don't they use the same boxes for the 5oz wedge tailed eagle, the koala and Chinese mythical creatures coins? Do they all not for properly?
