Hmm, seems like RCM has come up with another bullion coin. I am not sure what's the reason behind minting it in 3/4 oz but I suppose none of this matters as it would probably be another milkspot magnet. Source: http://www.apmex.com/wolf?_campaign=10132014wolf
Perhaps 25% less milk spots per coin?....or they are 25% smaller?..ha! Suppose I shouldn't laugh as half of my silver stack is in the 1 oz maple form...they are tucked away in their boxes and I haven't looked at them for a few years so I have no idea whether they have spotted...
At least the snow will blend in with the scenery. I really can't believe the RCM gets away with selling a gazillion of these types of bullion coins, knowning they're a plagued with the problem or white spots...or better yet that the sheeple buy the stuff at a premium, knowing they'll be lucky to get near spot once they're riddled with white spots...EVENTUALLY. Good luck. Wouldn't touch these with a 10 foot wolf paw.
It is a baked-in blemish from a cleaning detergent that is left on the coin, and is still present when the coin goes into a furnace to prevent it from being brittle, and it gets baked into the coin itself. As it's a natural process you can try to lessen the chance/delay the process but provably won't have much luck. (Check out the FAQ's in my siganature ) I quite like the design, wolves are always cool when on coins. They'll be a success no doubt, regardless of the free extra snow
I really like the design but the premium is high.....almost the same price as a 1oz coin. And yeah the milk issues have turned me off completely of my own countries bullion. May get just 1 later on when they are available in Canada from Canadian dealers
RCM just needs to make a tamper proof seal for their coin tubes. Still sealed = no milk spots (that we know of). Simples
Why not just put them out as a 1 oz coin? The design looks great though will probably pick up one for the collection.
Well of course people would still open them to sell them individually and in smaller lots etc, but for those that keep the seal in tact, well, we can't say they have milk spots could we?
All RCM bullion will come in new style mint tubes like the ones above, with special mint seal to ensure freshness of the coins!
