I'd do the same if I had that kind of cash available. Looking at aftermarket prices and the high demand on the P version ATB's, it's worth getting at least 10 of each of the 2014 issues.
I got my email today as well. Only 2 on my subscription, wish I could afford more. This is my first time with this subscription. I assume that I don't need to do anything at this point, the email means the coins will ship and my card will be charged?
Correct, they will notify you before being charged in case you want to cancel. Otherwise, you're guaranteed to get your coin. These will sell out.
I wish the U.S. Mint would post actual photos of the coins they are soon to release for sale....drawings, while better than nothing, just don't cut it for me.....
We've got some big images of the quarters up. Not the 5oz'ers I know, but more realistic than the line-art. http://agaunews.com/?p=9734
Did you use an Aus or US address for shipping Kam=L? I just tried to sign up for the subscription but it told me that for subscriptions a domestic shipping address was required
I'd be happier if they sent TomD a coin and let him release the pictures, I swear his photo taking abilities make coins look even nicer than they really are.
I solemnly promise to photo to the best of my ability each and every piece of silver and gold sent to me.
I know there's at least 1 or 2 forum members who generally do not order from APMEX because of the taxes that are imposed by the state they live in so there is a low cost alternative if you are buying the ATB 5 oz bullion coins: http://www.moderncoinmart.com/product.php?productid=31080&MMCF_20140318_blast_31080 I get nothing from MCM...this is just for informational purposes for those who are buying ATB 5 oz coins.
One thing you seems not realizing is: MCM (APMEX too) screens their coins before grading. Those cannot pass their eyes and will not be graded at least 69 or 70, they sell them in Mint packaging! Seems Gainesvillecoin has not gone into selling graded coin yet, at least not in large quantity. So their BU or Mint packaging coins perhaps not yet are cherry picked. yes, not everyone care about this, but it is good to know this
Right, only US Mint sealed rolls are not rifled through. Do you know if these bullion coins come in Mint sealed rolls?
I somewhat disagree. The standard 5 oz bullion issue comes in a mint tube of 5. The "P" uncirculated version comes in dedicated mint packaging with a COA, box and capsule (and the capsule isn't easily opened). The "P" version also has a different finish than the bullion issue, so there's no way that the two can be mistaken and packaging swapped. The bullion issue has a much higher mintage and generally sells for only a bit over spot. The uncirculated "P" versions are the ones that command significant premiums.
The rolls aren't sealed, the boxes they come in are. Once the box is open, there's really no way to tell if a roll has been gone through. Smart money says that if it's from Apx or MCM, there's a 90% chance it's been picked over for grading. Always better to buy coins from dealers that don't submit 1000s to the graders, better chance that they haven't bee picked through.
