So looks like this coin will be released in September. I will be pre-selling these. If anyone is looking, feel free to give me a shout .
... here the video for this new nano coin:
I just cant get into that coin, I guess its very nice if your into that sort of thing. The coin not being round puts me off it as well. Hope its a best seller for you all though, but I am out on this one.
Cool video, wonderful coin. I think that the oval shape fits perfectly with design, on both coins Nano Raphael Rooms and Nano Sistine Chapel. And, most important, this stuff is one of the most original thing I see on a modern coin after so many swarovsky crystals and glass/amber panes Alex.
Another post from you, alexbecks, with which I can 100% agree! There are just too many animal coins, "Swarowsky" crystals and just too many copy cats. It's sort of remind me of song: For me oval shape fits perfectly. It increase the uniqueness of the coin. Place all your coins with reverse up. On most of them will be Queen. But only few of them will be oval. And you could tell, yeah, this coin is Nano Sistine/Raphael. @Coin'treau: thanks for the video!
Just saw the Nano Raphael Rooms coin video linked also on Krause Publications Numismatics facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/kpnumismatics?hc_location=stream "Check out this truly amazing new coin from our friends at Power Coin, Italy. If you had any doubts that new coin technology has come a long way, watch this video! The 2nd in the series "Ceilings of Heaven", only 999 pieces available world wide. -" Krause Publications - the COTY - Coin Of The Year award organizers. This coin series is going to be appreciated more and more worldwide, and mintage is only 999 pcs. I am now even more sure about its potential in the next years. The question now is not anymore "to buy or not to buy", but "how many to buy and save" I feel Shakespeare inspired today lol Alex.
Gret finding Alex! I've always thought/suspected that at least one of the Nano coins will be (at least) nominated for COTY or some other category. It could be this one. I will buy at least few.
Thanks Coin'treau for sharing this nice video...but still I wish to see this coin on my hand and see the details. Is it high relief with details like Tiffany? I think coin itself is not so impressive. This nano chip (like many of you already said it) makes this coin special, original. Both coins are nice , but I prefer 2013 more then 2012. Reason why I am posting this photo of two coins next to each other. The Raphael Rooms coin seems to me much better organized. I like where they placed chip.
Comparing Nano Sistine Chapel with two other rounds I found around. Not to discuss about quality, which is no doubt much better on Nano Sistine Chapel, but to prove that the oval shape was the best choice for the design. Alex.
... the quality of these two nano coins is outstanding, topped probably just by the Tiffanys... but they are double minted. Mayer Mint is the best choice for such innovative coins. I like the oval design as well. Thanks Alex!
We can all agree that all coins (at least numismatic) are some sort of art. And everyone interprets work of art differently. When you look at the coin, the elliptic coin and standard round plastic capsule form sort of an "eye". Which goes well with nano chip on it (eyes seeing coin and the stuff on nano chip (with "better"/artificial eyes - you become sort of an god when looking down on a motive. )). It also goes good with motive. Maybe better with motive on first coin than second (I think that right figure on first coin is god whereas the second is showing philosophers). Also the elliptic coin form is a little more "justified" with second coin. If it would be round the story "symmetry" would suffers - as it's obviously width important not width and height. I can't imagine having the whole motive in round coin. Probably it would be at least 2 oz. Man I've complicated too much. And yes SILVERCOINSSHOW, it's high relief coin. Second much more.
I always wanted to get one of these copper medallions. This is what I call art. "Creation" by famed sculptor Marcel Jovine. Size: 4 inch (102mm) Round Material: Copper Antique or even better this one: struck in .999 fine Silver, 101 mm, 622 gm (20 oz) The issue was limited to only 250 pieces and was struck more than 20 times.
Very nice coins. I wonder how much they would cost today. Of course you must take into consideration that you are comparing 20 oz coin and "3/4" oz coin.
Agreed, made quite an investment in these, and looking at all the positive comments, should see a decent return.
That Morcel Jovine medalllion is quite a pieve of art! do you have any more details about it? including age, price and where can we get this wow factor piece?
I think that year is around 1990 (talking from my head). It's copper, size more than 100mm. There is someone selling them on feeBay for around 300-400$ ("buy it now"). There was 1 auction for copper piece which ended about a week ago. The final price was around 220$. Looks like silver coin is much rarer (didn't find it on feeBay when last checking). SILVERCOINSHOW mentioned only 250 pieces. There are some other great coins from Marcel Jovine. They are all part of "Society of Medallions (Medals)". Each year at least one was released. He also made "Yankee Doodle came to town" and one coin with ship (I think), which is also very nice. As I've said I'm writing this from my head, and my short memory is not doing very well, so will maybe edit the post when I come home.
