Not sure if anyone is interested, but I recently learned about a 2013 Koala with Chinese privy. The total mintage for this coin is 10,392. I had no idea this coin existed and thought I'd share.....

I have found one guy in Australia and one in Germany selling this coin on EBay.

    2011 Koala Bear privy
    2012 Koala Berlin Bear privy
    2013 Koala Chinese privy

They can potentially have 5,000 different character as Chinese privy

If you missed it, the coin is described in the Currency Determination as:

2013 Australian Koala - Chinese Characters - Silver Bullion Coin

The design on the 2013 Australian Koala - Chinese Characters (1oz) silver bullion coin, consists of a circle enclosing a representation of a koala sitting in the fork of a leafy tree. The coin includes the following inscriptions, 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA', the Pinyin pictographs pronounced 'sh' and 'nin' meaning 'year of the snake', the Pinyin pictographs pronounced 'j' and 'xing' meaning either 'auspicious' or 'propitiousness', '2013 1oz 999 SILVER' and the initials of the designer Natasha Muhl 'NM'

    1/10oz gold Kangaroo also.

Note the confusing currency Determination! Kook vs Koala

When I look at this coin for some reason my mind just thinks it's a poor quality Chinese fake of a standard koala.

    I don't! :D

I see a unique coin with a mintage of only 10,392 and the first Chinese privy mark to leave the presses at Perth.

The design is one of Perth's best Koala coin designs and...if it had been minted / released at the same time as the 2011 Koala coin it would have easily broken 1,000,000 coins.

As a side note and off topic..........................

Did you know that Perth's 2013 coloured carded Koala coin (Perth's first coloured Carded coin) has a mintage of only 4,958 coins and can only be obtained by purchasing the carded coin; there's "no" coloured bullion coins released. :D

I'd buy one if I knew were they could be bought for reasonable premiums, I have a few other PM privys. Though missing this 2013 / 2014 F15 kook privy. Haven't heard of that coin before.

I know what you mean. I also have been collecting the privy's that are listed on the Perth Mint's sheet as well, with the exception of the F15, and the 1/10 gold kangaroo. There is a recent privy that is not listed on there......the 2014 kookaburra with snake AND the 2014 lunar horse W/ Berlin bear privy also.

I had a brain fart. It is the 2013 kookaburra w/ snake privy, not a 2014.

For the 2014 Horse W/ Berlin Bear, there is an ebay seller selling those from Germany. I do not know the person, nor am I endorsing him in any way, shape, or form. Other than that, I could not find anymore information on that item in particular.

    For the 2013 Kookaburra W/Snake:

It seems to me like for the past 3 years, this year included, that after the Perth Mint sells out of the regular lunars then they make the bear privy's with a cap at up to 200K mintage with the exception of the snake...

I think I've asked them in the past, and they don't work with us U.S. Folks, unfortunately.
