Saw one today, $87.50. WTF. The proof was only $12.50 more at $100. WTF again.

Can get at $60/$75 but I'm still not touching them.

There's a thread on here somewhere already about it :p

Overpriced RAM Crap? have you seen how much Perth Mint charges for their crap? IMHO Perth Mint are FAR more expensive..

Do the Perth Mint make better product? its debatable.. i LOVE the perth mint bullion lunar series and kooks are all good but the coloured proof stuff is JUNKY and ULTRA LOW QUALITY.

Gimme RAM Kangas! (BUT JUST NOT AT $79 - lols)

Agreed. PM makes lots of ugly and undesirable proof coins.

The carded 2012 kangaroos don't deserve to be $60 though imo, the previous year could be had for around $45-50 why bother with 2012.

I first started collecting carded Roos in '06 for $20, imagine my surprise when I wanted to finish the missing years off and discovering the 'new' prices!

I have a receipt for a 1996 Silver Roo from the RAM, $17.50. Silver was $7 an oz or so then, so they were selling the Roos for $10 over spot. Now Spot is $40 and they are selling the Roos for $87.50 or $47.50 over spot. Quite a change in policy.

Nope! 1996 was the first year I started buying the Roos. Actually the receipt is from November 1995 when I bought the 1996 Roo so I guess you could have bought the first Roo, the 1993 one in late 1992.

Well TRUE yes when you calculate it as a value over spot, but a 57% premium over spot in 1996 vs a 54% premium in 2011 seems to be rather consistant. Less of a premium today !!! woo--whoo!
