For that kind of Money one should buy a older 12oz Panda, this Opera Coin is nice but there is no way that soo many Collectors buy this overpriced Coin and there are so many older cheaper Coins with lower Mintage, its clasical Coin Cornering, next Year we could maybe buy a 5oz Opera for half Price , buy older Coins with lower Mintage and let the Train drive by

It is as usual the larger or smaller new coins (other than 1oz) enjoy a temporary peak after they were issued.

A good money maker if you get it at issued price and sell it quickly.

I believe that is one good income stream for dealers in China.

What do you guys think of the actual coins/design and series?
I think they are really cool looking coins especially the 5 oz but I wouldn't spend that type of money on it now.

What do people in China think of these coins ? it seems the colored Chinese coins are not that popular , I am not a huge fan of colored coins but some have grown on me like this one and even the 2012 Chinese dragon which at first I thought was hideous.

Not a big fan of coloured coins myself (Perth mint has alot to do with that) but there are exceptions. Although I don't own one I loved the design of the 2012 dragon almost immediately. It's funky, which is dangerous in a numi, but it just works beautifully. Spoken with a forum member who has one they reckon it's stunning in the flesh and I will happily buy one someday. Not so interested in the other series 2 lunars but I am very bullish on the coloured lunar series 1, amazing looking unique coins.

Good luck on the 5 oz and other opera coins appreciating, will watch these issues with interest from the sidelines.
