I don't know how many collectors realize just how rare the silver 2000 10 Yuan Mirror variety Panda is and how many bad coins are on the market now. The counterfeits turn up practically everywhere, including the inventories of honest dealers who aren't specialists. I think the fakes must outnumber the real ones by at least 100:1. If anyone asked me (and they haven't) I would advise them to never buy a 2000 Mirror that's not certified and even then look out for a fake slab.

There are ways to tell real and fake coins apart but you need to know what to look for because the counterfeits are quite good. Anyone with one, much less three, should send them in to NGC or PCGS for certification these coins are too valuable (easily $500 for a nice one) to be complacent about authenticity. It's been at least four months since I have seen a genuine coin. Based on the little photo above I'm skeptical that I've seen a real one today and it pains me to write that.

    Best wishes,
    Peter Anthony
