I've just bought a 2002 marked Kook with what looks like the 2003 design, ie the bird sitting on the branch and not the 2002 design in flight over an Aus map. Anyone seen or heard of this before? I've tried searching for more about this, but can't seem to find anything. Hopefully some of the kookaburra fans can help me out here!
Similar Q posted about 2 weeks ago for different years. The proofs are usually minted a year ahead of bullion
Yes I was told it's a proof. I can't find anything else about it. It just seems very unusual to me. Does this thing happen often? Like a proof of the next years design? How would you find the mintage of such a coin? Any idea how to test if it is fake? It is the exact same size and weight as my other kooks.
