Has anybody EVER seen one ? We all know, that there was a 1992 commemorative $1. ( Barcelona Olympics ), but the RAM also made a MoR $1. for general circulation. According to RAM Annular Reports, the mintage was just 8,000 !!! ( not 8 million, just 8,000 ) This makes this particular $1. coin THE rarest decimal coin ever minted ... Image what a genuine roll would sell for ........
I have a number of friends in various coin clubs and none of them have even seen a picture of the coin, let alone gotten their hands on one. If they exist, it is unlikely that they have been released. Either melted down or sitting in the back of some RAM Warehouse, waiting to be found...
........ and no, I don't have one ( in case someone was going to ask ). Who are we suppose to believe ? ( McDonald's catalog, or the RAM ? )
In 1992 a set of coins was released that held a number of restruck $1 coins. This set includes a1992 mor. It is a commonly held belief that the ram reported the mor restrikes in this set in their yearly report http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1984-199...%3A02863e6415e0ab454f69f186fff3ccdf%7Ciid%3A9
No, that's not it. That's the 1992 Barcelona $1. ( with 1988 Bicentennial, 1986 Year of Peace, and 1984 & 1985 MoR )
I understand what you mean that the coins are not 1992 mor but what i am trying to explain is that in 1992 ram released this set, in order to do so they had to restrike a number of 1984/85 mor dollars. In doing so they declared the remint in the 1992 mintage figures despite the coins being dated 84/85
