I'm trying to see what this might be worth. It belongs to a friend. All I've managed to figure out is that it's a 1986 ... I think. Serial number is YYZ 866918 Cheers
Also, condition is pretty good. No rips or holes. I suspect 50 notes didn't get much circulation anyway.
Its from 1990 and catalogue (retail) values from McDonalds 2011 are: F $70 VF $100 EF $175 aUNC $260 UNC $325
Thank you Leafy Sea Dragon. Where might I see examples of condition? I know it's not UNC but I don't know how to grade otherwise. And how do you know what the year is? I thought the first 2 numbers were the year ... obviously wrong.
The note is still quite crisp for a circulated note, there are a couple creases and light folds near the corners, not in the middle. There are no stain or marks.
Google finds this as #1 http://www.australianbanknotes.net/grading.htm Without seeing the note is difficult to value. Seeing the note is also difficult to value accurately. Sadly McDonalds Catalogue Value is virtually worthless when it comes to the value of (common decimal) Australian notes! Don't know where he gets his values from because based on my recent experience he is not even close! Rumour has it that there is going to be a major review of McD's values in the next edition. McD's 2012 shows same values for all except UNC which appears as $375.
