I have been offered a set of gold Rhodesian coins they are 1966 5 pound gold coin, 1 pound gold coin, 10 schilling gold coin all in a case marked "Reserve Bank of Rhodesia 1966" inside marked SAM, all coins same weight/size as British 5 pound sovereign, sovereign and half sovereign, Worth just the gold value or more being a bit rare? thanks
thanks for the replies, seller wants $3500 I have offered $2500 so may meet in middle but see how I go............
Yes its a bit high but I would really like them but not at $3500, I have learned that majority of these coins are melted down amy way I have made another offer.........
Beautiful coins from a time when Rhodesia was a functioning and prosperous country. Best of luck in buying them.
I wish I had the money to splurge on such a set. I am quite fond of the military history of Rhodesia. Although its a bit sacrilegious I might need to look for a single Rhodesian gold coin that has been separated from its set.
Bid or Buy in South Africa you may find some, usually 10 shilling coin but most melted down, this site had a complete set................. Thank you for your enquiry . The price for the set would be 23500 Rand . The ten Shilling would be 2000 Rand . Both are in their original boxes of issue and the boxes are almost immaculate .
