Why are 1937 crowns so popular? Also they don't seem to be that difficult to find so why do they command such a high premium over spot?

Good question, and I'd like to know why too

I know that just over one million were minted, where as only 101,600 1938 Crowns were minted which explains their much higher premium

I can only assume 37 demands it's price of approx $35 due to being 80 years old? I'm sure quite a lot of the 1M minted no longer exist too which would contribute to its value.

Well it would be like the Morgans and Peace dollars IMO. A nice, large silver coin thats great to hold. I have a beat up crown as my carry piece

They are very nice to hold in hand. As Bullion_ron says, they are the Aussie Peace/Morgan. The design is appealing also.

Premium is because of the demand for them. People like them.
