The wear footprint on one coin does not look right...... Warning! Now why would someone offer $6 postage for a start bid $22,000.00 AUD coin ????? Scam? Edit: one coin looks legit. The $22K ask
Is this 1930 real??? The long story about needing money is setting off alarms for me. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1930-Aus...tu=UCC&otn=12&ps=63&clkid=5615121802246934081
Here this site will be of help to those that are not sure how to tell the difference between real or fake 1930 pennies.. http://www.thesandpit.net/index.php?option=1930_penny
The story sounds odd, the "MM" in Commonwealth look suss http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/australian-1930-penny-LOOK-/121121974323 What you you people think?
Fake. Look at the 9 and the 3 - two totally different size fonts. I think it has the Birmingham reverse as well, rather than the correct London reverse. My guess is an altered 1920.
GP your right, in fact there are so many things wrong with that one, I I wanted to sell a 25K coin, I'd take far better pictures for a start, even the coloration doesn't match the wear shown on the crown Cheers Alfie
How about this cracker! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1930-Aus...151065756690?pt=AU_Coins2&hash=item232c388412 Liking the feedback MMM
The 9 and 3 look wrong on this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/one-Penn...190868628693?pt=AU_Coins2&hash=item2c70a824d5
Found two more 1930's fakes http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Australia-1930-Penny-/301130479492?pt=AU_Coins2&hash=item461cc67784 0 is huge and wrong http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-...111302605543?pt=AU_Coins2&hash=item19ea26fae7 The second auction states "This item has been checked by an authorised coin collector, it is genuine", 0 looks wrong, blurred crappy pictures, no name of "authorised collector" or letter of authentication from said collector Alfie
lol @ "authorised collector". My partner lets me collect so I can I am an "authorised collector". Not really sure how that would qualify me to certify a 1930 penny.
