1892 Shield half sov

    I have the above coin but my Rennicks guide 24th ed states that it was only produced as a pattern.
    What does this mean? It is graded EF.

    McDonald guide says 1892 Melbourne only in pattern and 1892 Sydney unconfirmed pattern

    My guess is yours will be a GB half sov
