It's a bit worn, but came at a decent price
    240.00
left it in a glass of 50/50 water / washing up liquid for a month, then rinsed it under the tap.
No rubbing , just tap pressure.
    Came up nicely

It'll sit nice next to the latest Perth mint ones I just bought.

    ;)

No matter how I try I can't get a decent photo of these coins :(

Any suggestions?, iphone and a friends digital camera just won't focus on something so small as to show enough detail.

BTW the 1864 shield has Die No 69 not 29 as I first thought
It came up very well after 24 hours in some soapy water.
Not a scratch on it !!

There's a comedian over here in UK advertising another 1867 Australia for 995
Its condition isn't a patch on the one I bought (for 240 !!)

    Gotta shop around

how much does that coin weigh?
it may just be me but those details look a bit mushy
for instance look at the A in "Victoria" it is fat an undefined

No idea of exact weight .

Purchased from reputable bullion dealer (Atkinsons) so would assume no jiggery pokery.
Maybe someone hit it with a hammer at some stage in its 150 year existence ?.

    I STACK Bullion.
    I COLLECT sovereigns.
This is part of the collection, so i'm not too fussed about it being underweight/less than MS whatever..

    Nice, hard to find coin.
    No more, no less.
Now, the 2011, 2013 and 2014 Perth Mint Proof Australia sovereigns I have...........
    They're worth getting Anal about.
