Hi everyone, recently got myself a 1797 Cartwheel 2d. Love it, but it's such a heafty coin I can't find a capsule to put it in.

    Any suggestions?

    Put them in 2x2 card.

or if you like a suitable capsule, take them to a coins shop, they probably will have the right one for you.

Thanks Chip , but this coin is BIG and THICK .. around 9mm thick. I haven't been able to find a 2x2 that is big enough, plus I'm worried if a 2x2 would even be enough protection from rim knocks and such, this being quite a heavy chunk of a coin.

A capsule would be great, but I don't know if they do one big enough.

Give me a calliper measurement, I will try to find one for you.

Best I could do was an airtite Y65 capsule (ID 65mm) with a Y47mm foam insert, and then a X43 foam insert inside of that (or X40 if you want the coin very snug).
You might have to very slightly shave the outside of the X43 foam ring for a good fit.

I do have another card larger than 2x2, to suit larger coin over 41mm.
