Well you can't write this one off a crazy lone gunman, since there were 3 of them it looks like an organised response to something they found offensive in this satire magazine. Apparently they were aasking where the cartoonist is by name. Hopefully this isn't used to restrict freedom of speech in France.

I'd hate to be a moderate Muslim right now, I can't even think of a suggestion for how to fight radicalism like this :/

On another note, assault rifles are illegal in France, if only somebody had told these guys then this might not have happened :(

Really??? That seems a bit excessive.

Where was the last place this happened? I think it was Denmark, over a drawing of the prophet or soemthing?

Just like past shifts against violence in the name of Christianity I think a large part is internal to the Muslim community. Change the culture of the gateways into the extreme cults and it should reduce their prevalence. While the gateways are tolerant (and indeed active participants) of their abuse against women, apostates, etc I don't think much can really change.

Hasn't the biggest problem in the Middle East been the borders that were drawn that didn't actually take into account where ethnic groups lived at the time, leading to social incohesion?

Yes in iraq you have kurds, sunnis and shias, living together. and they don't get on well, they should divide the state properly once this is all over with.

Yes once it has been "properly" divided they can then move on to fighting over whether the division has been fair and equitible to all parties!

Biggest problem in the middle east is Islam...just have to look at death toll from Islam v Islam wars compared Islam vs anything else wars. Islam and Catholicism during the inquisition (dark ages) are very similar, convert or die is very similar to how viruses act.

Three people suspects, not sure how they identified them so quick considering they were gloved up and masked. They must've told the local butcher or put it up on twitter.

Identity card left in the getaway car apparently. (Possibly also mobile phone tracing.)

I had email contact with Zbigniew several years ago over another matter and found him to be impatient and somewhat arrogant. That aside, he is very intelligent.
