What's everyone's thoughts on the 1.5oz Polar Bears? I think there really nice and pretty rare to I believe. and what do you think there worth?
Take your left hand, then ur right hand. Then type 1.5oz polar bear in google , this forum is to hard to insert pics into
Not that rare to be honest. Have a couple for keepsakes but doubt they're gonna appreciate much anytime soon. Plenty on eBay with prices close to spot so no premium there either. A pity they didn't mint a 1oz polar bear coin with the same design.
Have a couple one of which is very milky but I like them, as Altima stated not rare, might increase in the future but not by much - still plenty around.. +1
RCM is famous for production-damaged and transit-damaged coins, but they outdid themselves with this one. I bought a tube of these when they first came out. They were so lousy with surface scratching, marring and rim dings that I returned them to the vendor and got a refund. That was the only time I ever returned bullion coins, but for an $11/oz premium, I wasn't keeping those nasty things. They looked like they'd been through a war--on the losing side. When I spoke with the vendor, the phone rep admitted I wasn't the first buyer to return these and that a good number of buyers had also returned them. At this point, I wouldn't buy any of these if I couldn't physically inspect them first. They may be novel because of their thickness and weight, but they're not rare and they command no rarity-driven premium. I don't see these as being a winner in any way.
Got my bears at a small premium i.e. similar to Maples etc. per Toz. Quality pretty good. Just waiting on delivery of capsules that fit the thicker coin. As for future price maybe a bit higher than regular bullion as more unusual and perhaps more collectable in a few years. The Timber Wolf in the WWF series is a classic example of rising premiums.
That's got to be a joke, right. It couldn't be easier to insert an image in this forum. Seriously, that was a joke, right?
I'm pretty sure 99% of everyone here knew which 1.5oz Polar Bear coin OP was referring to. Also, believe it or not, not everyone is a computer wiz so what may seem easy to you may not be for the next person.
I'm going to get one, just because I think it's attractive and unique enough to pique my interest. But then, I also buy Somali Elephants and Armenian Noah's Arks, too. Talking about the WWF Wolf reminds me: I need to dig through my stack and see which one of the set I'm missing, while silver is low. I *think* I'm missing the Moose to complete the set.
