About time too! I thought I was going to have to pay a premium on the secondary market for them, still might. So why only a limited amount? Surely if they are going to fire up the presses you'd think they would make it worth while
Looking at the Mint's automated price system, a 2oz coin would be $81 and a 5oz $208 and a 1/2oz $22.
Tell you what - if Gold Stackers gets any, they will be offered to SS members at that price through the website - we won't gouge. They are to be allocated however, dunno if we will get any seeing as we're a fairly new distributor. No idea what quantities are going to be made available in this release. They will be available through Perth Mint's bullion website at the prevailing prices though. Please don't ping me requesting to have coins set aside - mightn't get any.
Hi, Unfortunetly it doesnt matter where you are based, Allocations are purely base on your turnover and what you have ordered in the past of a similar product. . I can confirm the 5oz,2oz and 1/2oz silver dragon coins are beening allocated and all orders are beening sent in the month of march hopefully. My guess is 60% goes overseas and 40% in australia. might be alot less one never knows what the perth mint does. I can only say that bullion allocations is not normally seen at the mint, as to my knowlege it is very rare that they would start allocating unlitmited mintage coins. Might be worth while picking up afew of them. james
I only wanted 1 of each but if they are going to be scarce..., surely we have up until September for these things to be minted, though I guess they have to start on the Snake to get them ready in time for a September(?) release. How many more months of Dragon minting are there? If there is no silver shortage then what is the hold up, they have nice new shiney minting machines don't they. I would rather not get gouged on the price due to an artificial shortage if they are going to crank the machines up later in the year. I can live without them I suppose...
Same old story. APMEX & friends get the lions share of the allocation and mark the price up sky high. 1oz are still $100 so the Perth Mint looks set to further their profiteering ways.
I just hope Bullion Bourse gets enough to fill the orders that they took back in September and early October. It's been a looooong wait.
