So in light of the other topic where the 'Temple of Heaven' medals were mis-labelled as '2 Lovely Pandas' I thought I should start this topic. I have roughly 30 medals itching to be sent but the NGC forms aren't making 100% sense to me - so - i'm hoping you guys can please give me a few pointers Say I want to submit the temple of heaven pandas, where abouts on the form do I specify the type of medal?? Also, do I need to specify if it's Antiqued? Thanks all
You can enter it in the "Denomination" box. Concurrently, what I do with submissions for which I have specific concerns, I add a note on the "Customer Notes" line and after I print it, I highlight that in yellow on every page NGC receives. .
I had tried the denomination box but it has a fairly limited character allowance and so I couldn't fit it all in. Had assumed there must be somewhere else to write it and looks like the Notes line will work nicely. Thanks for clearing that up
This is an interesting topic, as I do want to send in some coins and medals together with a friend as well. for example I want to submit 6 gold panda(coins/medals) and 15 silver/brass/copper (coins/medals), can I put this on one form or do I need to have two forms?(and have to pay the handing fees twice) Also from all the coins I only want 4 coins to be conserved, but on the form you can only tick the box where it will apply to all coins send in. Also when my friend and I have the same coin, how do I say what coin is his on the form, this because on the form the ask how many you have from on type of coin? Maybe Numistacker can make a video, how to submit your coins and medals with the different specifications
As far as I know: If it exceeds 15, you need another form, which means 2 or more return packages to pay for (but you can send all in one package) You can not mix oversize and normal size holder, require seperate form I think you can't mix ncs and none ncs coins/medals on same form To seperate similar coins, just make sure you note the line number, as that would be the last 3 digits in the ngc number on the slabs Hope it helps, and remember you can send all in one package. Good luck!
So talking of oversize holders, the majority of my medals are 2Oz or more and so would need double thickness holders. On the form, if I tick 'double thick holder', it unticks 'tokens/medals' and vice versa. So which should I tick?
For 2oz it should be fine with normal size holder I guess unless it's thick/piedfort like the Lunar Panda, then you still don't need oversize, but you need to check the "double thick" holder, which again might require another form not mixing double thick etc (not sure), but if you have mostly normal size and a few double thick, I usually add those without crossing the double thick and they just add a few bucks when invoicing, and always return without extra shipment.... You will find somewhere on the form what dimensions require oversize
Thank you Perfulator for all the information, it still sounds complicated if you have many different coins/medals. So the maximum a mouth of coins on one form is 15, coins that I want to have conserved go on a second form. I can put all these coins and forms in one box and send it to NGC, but NGC makes different invoices for every form and send all these in separate boxes to you. So I have to pay for (express) shipping from the USA 3 times?
Yes, every form is a separate return shipment, at least by my experience. Maybe others have different experiences? Or tricks? I'm still learning
I always use the online form. Denomination is SILVER or GOLD Any metal post 1955 and under $2000 value silver gold platinum etc can be added on an invoice GOLD tier means only pre 1955 gold up to $3000 per coin. NCS conservation can be requeted in the description of a coin. I have successfully added ER designation to one coin in the middle of an invoice by requesting it. Limits of 5 coins per type have been recently removed ER and FR is $10 from $15 Return mint packaging is now $5 Special Labels are $5 Double width holders are $5 Ship together has to be requested.
Ahhh, so the mint gets them graded for you. I had wondered how you were getting all the special labels on your slabs. A lot of them only seem to be available to bulk submitters which if I understand correctly would mean submitting 100 or more medals in one go.
I have a china partner in china. He did it for me instead of mint. Not to believe all those bullshit in forum that saying mint ask your opinions or so on and on. It is the sponsor ask you not mint. Mint does minting job only.
Many special labels are available on request. I am ELITE with NGC so that may mean I can request - i am not certain. IN a recent submission i requested Panda Label Year of the Rooster Label There is an index on the NGC siite that is NOT upto date and accurate.. https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-grading/labels/
Thanks numi , think i'll try requesting some Panda labels when I send off my set of temple of heaven pandas. I'm not Elite but might as well ask
