As long as you paid low premiums it should be ok.

New ones going for $31 to $33 give or take.

If you paid too close to above, ask the dealer if you can exchange it?

Last time I bought a coin with the word "Copy", it was a fake with no silver.

Just got an email back from my dealer, coin is real silver. email below.

those are what are called - 'Walking Liberty' Silver Bullion Coin.

They are generic 1oz silver bullion based on the Walking Liberty Silver Eagle design, but are not minted by the US Mint.

Sam wouldn't have known that to mention it - sorry for the confusion - still pure silver, just those random cheap new sorts of coins I throw into the box when it's low, but definitely pure bullion.

They need to mark it as 'copy' from a design perspective to differentiate between a silver eagle - also a US Mint Silver Eagle has the date down the bottom under the lady.

Take em back and demand a refund or exchange - IMO seems like a shoddy dealer would sell this phony crap. Wouldn't pay more than a few % above spot for these.

If they give you any trouble just mention you will post their contact details on this forum which will cause us all to avoid doing business with them.

Probably best not to buy anything with the word "copy"?

I might have a slight different view. Depending on how you feel and how muc it will cost to go back to exchange ie a coffee on the way blows any savings.

I would just email them and say that you are a little disappointed and that they should have highlighted that you are buying a copy.
And that you would appreciated a small consideration in your next purchase. Especially considering you would have paid the extra $4 for the real ones.

And see what their response is, unless it's very convenient I would not go back to just exchange. Plus even if they give you credit unless in the web there was something special I would not use them unless they came back with a sincere sounding apology.

    My 2 cents

I think people here are making a big deal over it. She paid a few bucks more then she should have. PG let this be an inexpensive lesson for you.

In my experience anything with the word copy stamped on them is not real silver.

Do you know how to do a ping test or even a specific gravity test?

I'd only buy it if it said "In COPY we trust". That would be hilarious.
