Agreed, I find myself more excited about them now that I've seen them even more so than I was excited anticipating the designs being unveiled. They really struck a cord with my collector side.
Some images and details up in a quick look. Hope it helps. http://agaunews.com/perth-mints-bullion-ranges-revealed-2017/
Funny, Gainesville is already selling the Lunar Rooster. I'm waiting for the kooks. I don't particularly care for any of the others. http://www.gainesvillecoins.com/cat...medium=email&utm_campaign=2017-silver-rooster
Koala with well executed foreground and background is the well balanced. Kook no background ref point at all. Lost on a fence, 2016 better. Ag Rooster looks good in 2oz or less, bland looking when lack of detail emerges in larger denominations. Lunar II with its busy borders and additional imbalances continues. Gold Rooster very similar to 2005, with flotsam distraction edges of irritation, and no background. Art 101 teaches eye relaxing proportional math. Koala only representative thereof. Simply put, it looks "real" and shiny too. Thank you for posting vid. Calculating purchases... now.
The gold kangaroo is also beautiful. Classic design. Disappointed with the silver rooster though - but will still get some of the 1 oz and 1/2 oz coins. Better than the monkey.
Kook looks great. Reminds me of old school kook designs. Koala looks.....who buys the koala anyways, who cares. Gold rooster looks amazing! My first 1oz gold was this years monkey, and this rooster made my mind up about collecting the whole series. Kangaroo looks.... refer to koala^ ... who buys a gold roo when gold lunar is basically the same price..
Although I agree with your assessment. Although we don't want to load up on Koalas/Roos, I do want at least one of each just for the collection
Is it just me or did that platypus look TERRIBLE!! . Quality wise. In the vid at about the 0:45 mark. When it spins around the outer ring looks like it came out of a grater. And i thought the platypus was suposed to be one of the mint capsulated coins. Now im thinking that was the best cos they chose it for the vid :| ..i was thinking about getting one... Click on the title of the vid, takes u to the real youtube vid and fullscreen it
Perth Mint introduces their 2017 Silver Luna "year of the chickens". This is a wonderful modern designed Silver coin that embraces the traditional ancient Chinese animal symbols of the past with a much more acceptable modern Rooster and Hen! Perth Mint is also proud to have added the subtle yet non descript chicks into the desighn in order to portray a truly family value orientated coin that is both pleasing to the eye and steeps in the tradition of modern western forwardness. "year of the chickens" .... "aint nobody here but us chickens" lol lunatics! lol
