Not quoting someones post completely.

I want to be able to quote part of someones post without posting the whole thread,just editing out a word or a sentence or a paragraph.

I have tried but failed in my attempts can you tell me how.

Highlight the words, hit Ctrl C, go to the quick post area and hit ctrl V

Step 1 Highlight the required text

Step 2 Hit 'Ctrl C'

Step 3 Go to Reply/Quick Post panel

Step 4 Hit Ctrl V

VOILA!

If the above is what you want, the easier to is to press quote button below right, delete all you want except the ([)quote=Brexitbaby] and the last [/quote(]) leave the text you want.

Note added () to the quote so it stopped quoting you. When you do it you won't have the () symbols.

You could use the door

 

No need to copy just use the "Quote" button, then you can delete the areas you don't need or want. This will put it in a box as below.

Make sure you have the start quote= included and the closed /quote on the end.

 

Seems to work the same as every forum I have been on.
