Watch out for a 5th wave blow off.
wave 1 from $0.53 or so I bought a bunch at 60c and restocked on the share purchase plan.
I think its in a new bull, but that will depend on Gold and $AUD.
    Its all quite fragile.

EVN closed at $1.50, up $0.155 or 11.52% today.

Announcement by Emmerson Resources (ASX: ERM), which EVN has a farm-in agreement with, of a new high grade gold discovery in the Tennant Creek area.

EVN has announced that its takeover bid for Phoenix Gold Limited (ASX:pXG) has been successful, and is now moving into compulsory acquisition of remaining shares.

Much of Phoenix's Kalgoorlie tenements are adjacent to EVN's Mungari tenements and processing plant, so it is a strategic fit with plenty of synergy in the deal.

I thought their quarterly was quite good! but the market didn't react as such...

    - Higher production guidance (tic)
    - Lower AISC (tic)
    - Exploration upside (tic)
    - $100m cash generated (tic) - This put them on a PE of between 5-6
    - Reduced debt ahead of schedule (tic)
    - Completion of the acquisition (tic)

I couldn't find any flaws apart from some higher cost at 1-2 of their mines... mining lower grade cut backs i think.

A very strong gold producer IMO that will do tremendously well when the bear market reverts to a bull market! which should eventuate leading into 2020... their mines have enough life to see through this period and growth of assets/further acquisitions would also be on the radar.

Great business in a tough environment.

I notice when I get it wrong a certain person slams me repeatedly even years after I have made the comments
But when I get it right that same person is dead silent. ;)

Not sure who you are referring to?
If it's me, I've never posted in this thread before.

    EVN is moving nicely ahead!

Now producing ~800,000oz/year of low cost gold, and paying debt down, they are the 2nd largest gold stock on the ASX (behind Newcrest).

I hope they complete another takeover before the bull market really kicks into gear... take it over 1,000,000oz/year would be fantastic. I think a BLK or larger would add great depth to the current portfolio of assets, or perhaps a South American takeover to diversify internationally. They are generating great cashflow which they could expend on another acquisition.

This stock is going much higher over the coming years, great management with a great vision.

    Cheers,
    B

They own 14% of emmerson (ERM) who have a great mine strategy with competent management.
I suspect EVN may eventually increase their ownership and take em over.

Emmerson own over 2m shares in EVN so about 2.5c of their (ERM's) share price is cash and shares.

2nd best performing stock in my portfolio at 198%, so tripled my money. Shame I didn't have much in it though.
    GRY is at 160%
But SLR is still my best at 235%, and I had a lot invested in that thankfully.
Still waiting for PIO and BGS to take off, I have big money in those too.

    Trading halt announced.
Never seen a transaction like this to "acquire an economic interest". But EVN has proven to be a solid, canny company in the past, so hopefully all good.

Might be worth buying today if you don't own or are under exposed.

Im actually over exposed to this stock (by quite a bit) which is foolish on my part, but ill re-weight going into the last bit of the year.

Evolution basically bought 1m ounces of future gold production for spot price off glencore

I'm under-exposed but work is also going through a slow patch at the moment so I feel like it would be silly of me to dump too much into this. It's a shame, I think this is a great buying opportunity.

EVN has been going strong lately: up $0.08 / 2.54% today closing at $3.23, having held above $3 for the last 2 weeks.

Not a bad return if you managed to buy at the low of $0.399 in December 2014.
