It's not over yet. Parliament still need to vote on it. Only requires about 30 tories to vote against recognising the result of the referendum

I know. So why even bother with a national vote? Queue Stalin quote on voting.

The government will ignore the result. The people will moan. Business as usual.

You don't really think the powers will let the peasants make this sort of decision.

  8. I'm frankly amazed at how many still believe the illusion of Democracy.

Depends how close the vote is. The closer the result the more likely parliament is to reject it.

Politicians primarily want to secure their jobs and a clear majority voting for leave means they will go with the crowd for the sake of popularity.

52% vs 48% to Brexit. Have postal votes been counted yet? If not we could get another 1,000,000 postal votes to get remain over the line

Given that this was about re-establishing UK democracy over the EU oligarchy, it would be high ironic if the UK parliament ignored the referendum result.

However, I would suggest that would be practically impossible to do, given how empowered all the high profile supporters for Leave will be.

I would say the Brexit train has now definitely left the station.

Brussels is in trouble and a broader breakdown of the EU is raising its head.

Edit to add: It is really encouraging that the UK is leading the world in freedom again. They have been responsible for so much liberty and progress across the world its great to see them boldly stepping forward in this vein again. In saying that I also recognise the unequaled devastation they have wrought on native peoples around the world, but that was in the negative aspect of their past imperialist phase.

  17. The question for me now. Is this the first EU domino to fall?
