So the other day I was surfing youtube and got mesmerized by silver stacking. Being the noob that I am I did a little research and pulled the trigger on a Apmex 10 oz silver bar. Was that a decent first purchase or not, Now in hindsight I wish I would have purchased a RCM 10 oz bar.

It's a good choice of bar but all depends on the amount you paid. Just buy the RCM next time ;)

I don't think you can go wrong with Apmex 10oz.. What is your stacking strategy though? Are you just trying to keep as close to spot as possible, or do you want some gains in value?

Before you buy too much, get your stacking strategy in place :D

Believes me, he will collect everything if he started to store silver rounds.

Both will be worth exactly the same when you go to sell them, don't sweat it.

Silver blob (generic) bars are silver blob bars....they are all the same to me.....doesn't matter who manufactures it.

All generic bars are melting pot fodder and paying a higher premium for any one over another is a waste of money in my view.

On the other hand, some silver art bars are very cool and worth a higher premium in my view. But the generic junk blobs....whether APMEX, OPM, or RCM....all the same melting pot fodder.

^^^ thanks for reminding us mmissinglink, some of us have 5-second memories so it's good to be told over and over and over again how you feel about low-premium silver.

Hang on, I forget now, do you like blobs? Tell us again about blobs, go on!

I don't think RCM has a great logo, but that's just me. Monarch Precious Metals has cool 5, 7, and 10 oz poured bars with viking and pirate themes. The pirate stuff has more of a premium though. No idea if they'll go up in value (doubtful, but who knows). I haven't bought any though since I just keep to 1-2 oz silver for now. If you're collecting for trade or end of the world scenarios, then 1oz silver should be easier to move. I haven't traded or sold anything yet though, so...

Pretty much, unless you are selling something 'highly collectible' or they stop making the bars. That's why most new Stackers just stick to buying whatever is closest to spot, in order to keep their price over spot average as low as possible.

Since you are so forgetful, this is just a reminder that generic blobs are merely a spot play because they are just fodder for the melting pot. :p

You know guys I said that the RCM 10 oz would be my next purchase but.......... I placed an order with Provident and Yeager lol. House the premium is between the Apmex 10 oz and the RCM 10 oz is about $5.

RCM 10oz are great value/looking bars. I got 8 from GS last month at a good price. You can get them there if PB are out.

So little difference that if you were charging your time, it wouldn't pay you to read this thread.
