I decided recently to start buying PM's on eBay due to my PM fever being so heavy. So one of the first items I ordered came today, or at least the package, but the package had been opened and nothing inside. Called USPS and opened a case, but am wondering due I call eBay and Paypal to let them know the envelope came but was empty with an incision on the top of the package? How does this play out usually?
Yup, did that. They are going to look into it and check the recovery department, it just looks suspicious. It was unfortunately a $315 item. Just got off the phone to eBay they are assisting, I guess I file a claim with eBay tomorrow (have to wait a day) then see where it goes from there. Thanks for your reply, but would be curious to hear any other stories like this and how they ended up.
eBay , pay pal , places that you purchase from acknowledge all this places. May takes months ..... Keep the packaging, also take photos as evidence
Is the weight and $ value on the package? I've heard that some sellers have put in objects of equal weight and leave a slight but unnoticeable tear in the package to ensure whatever it is falls out so looks like it was the carriers fault. I think as the buyer you've got more chance of a successful resolve. What's the sellers feedback like?
I was annoyed because it seems kind of suspicious how the opening is at the crease along the edge of the end of the bubble wrapped envelope. I took photos and so did the postman.
Very obvious, indeed from the sentence stated it have been opened!! Items are normally put in cardboard box. May also have plastic bag over it, then sticky tapes all over the packaging. Unless, insufficient packaging which then the item came loose from the packaging, thing does happen. Some people can't packed. There will be a sticker stated the weight as well. Things don't simply jump out of the box. Disclosure: I have packed many shipment ranging from a match box size up to 40 foots containers. Have seen / received many parcels in my time, All my parcels can with stand impact, they don't come loose or implode.
It did not have insurance that I know of, the seller has 105 feedback which is all good. The weight is on the package, no value. I have another Platinum eagle coming tomorrow or the next day from same guy, hope to not have issues with that one, purchased that one outside of eBay from him to save us money.
Pretty much what I said to the guy when I emailed him, told him on the future to use more tape especially on the paper based envelopes. Still waiting to hear back from him. There are a few things that made me feel cautious of the guy but Still did it, fingers crossed.
That's that I thought initially and haven't given up on the idea. But if he shipped it without an item inside why make an incision? Why would there even be an incision, why not just ship the envelope empty?
Oh yea, I only use PayPal when buying stuff online. The first item I bought on eBay then the second I bought outside of eBay but still used PayPal to pay. I have to wait one day before opening eBay claim, will be on this sharp tomorrow if I do not hear anything from USPS.
Insufficient packaging, obviously the sender just chuck the item in the envelope loose. The item find it way out. As nowadays , postal parcel are handle automatic thru conveyer system. The envelope may get caught during the process , therefore break and come loose. But don't tell them this.... Just tell them the parcel arrived and there is no content, Let them figure out for themselves
Just received email from seller, he said he taped it in the envelope then said I better not be trying to scam him. When I called and filed claim with USPS the lady said the same thing, that the machines do crazy things and that this wouldn't be completely uncommon. Still wish this would had been packed better and hope they find it.
